Over one fifth of Australians use Firefox
According to a 2006 survey by Neilsen Net Ratings, over one fifth of Australian internet users use the free Mozilla Firefox web browser.
In a report detailing Australian internet use in 2006, Nielsen reported that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer was still dominant in the market, with 81 per cent. Firefox accounted for 22 per cent of the market, while Apple’s Safari, which shares some open source code with Firefox, was the third most popular at 5 per cent.
